Last month, Jeni's Ice Creams voluntarily recalled all of their products and closed down scoop shops due to listeria being discovered in some of their pints.

Last week, the company announced that they have discovered the cause of the outbreak — a contaminated pint-filling machine in their Ohio facility.

While it's unclear how the machine came to be contaminated, Jeni's will be making $200,000 worth of improvements to their supply chain to prevent further problems.

The company lost an estimated $2.5 million worth of product when the outbreak was discovered.
