In attempts to get that conversation started, we had Kitchn editors share their must-buy items in the frozen aisle. The answers included cool treats, organic fruit, seafood, and more.

1. Organic Frozen Fruit

"I second the fruit bars and frozen fruit! I also get the bagged frozen collard greens. I love collards, but I'm so lazy about prepping them, so this is the perfect solution — they're prepped, chopped, and ready to go. And because they're sold in a bag, which I wish was resealable, not a frozen block, I can use as much as I want and I'm not committed to the whole package. I usually just sauté them with some olive oil, shallots, garlic, and a splash of apple cider vinegar for a quick side dish. I also add them to pasta, egg scrambles, smoothies, and fried rice." "I like that all of their seafood is responsibly farmed: no antibiotics, and with a minimal impact on the environment. Whole Foods' frozen fish is also flash frozen, which means the flavor/texture is preserved as soon as it's caught. I always buy frozen for that reason. Plus, Whole Foods has a wide variety of shrimp, which is great depending on what I'm cooking. For a shrimp boil recipe, I want peeled and deveined tail-on shrimp, which they have. But if I want a quick and easy weeknight sheet pan shrimp, for example, I'll buy the tail-off variety." — Grace
